The Fosse Federation was formed on 1st November 2014 when Evercreech Church of England Primary and Lovington Church of England Primary Schools linked together.
In developing the Federation, one Governing Body was created to oversee the strategic direction and support to the Headteacher, who provides the day to day leadership at both schools. Ultimately our governors are responsible for setting objectives and are accountable for ensuring the quality of education and learning for all the children of both our schools and that the teaching is delivered in a safe, appropriate and affordable environment.
Governors are either elected, nominated or co-opted and represent parents, staff, the Local Authority, the Diocese and the local community. All non staff governors are volunteers and each member brings life experience and skills from a variety of backgrounds. We all work together for the benefit of both schools but also all the stakeholders in the federation. Our Governing Body is currently made up of 15 members and their key role is to work with our Headteacher, Mrs Norma Anselm on a strategic level:
(a) To create policies, monitor their implementation and evaluate the impact.
(b) To both challenge and support staff in both schools.
(c) To ensure financial and educational accountability.
Full Governing Body meetings are held at least twice per term. Sub committees also form an integral part of the governance structure and are in place to manage Finance, Pay and Performance, Policy and Admissions. If you want to speak to any member of the Governing Body or if feel you could contribute to the provision of education within the Federation by becoming a Governor, please do so by contacting either school office.
